A Little Bit About Me

Analytical and Innovative

Headshot

My approach to GIS is holistic, balancing the technical demands with the needs of people. I completed my undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Anthropology and Archaeology (go Heels!) and earned a Master’s of Geospatial Information Science & Technology from North Carolina State University. As a GIS specialist, I know how pivotal technology is in geospatial problem solving. As an anthropologist and technical manager, I understand that how people use and perceive tools also matters when researching issues and creating plans of action. I thrive on this combination of solutioning and interpersonal communication.

I make no bones about it: I'm an overthinker, always looks for ways to improve. During my time interning with NASA DEVELOP, my team was tasked with taking Myers-Briggs personality tests. I am thoroughly and completely the Architect (INTJ): a person with Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging personality traits. If you haven't checked them out, I strongly recommended playing around with the self-assessments.

I am also a lover of the outdoors and enjoy running, biking, and hiking. Despite the constant humming of computers during my regular day, I very much love unplugging, be that through reading, art, or taking a walk. Check out my Hobbies to see a bit more. Most of all, I'm a simple gal from North Cackalacky. Explore the map below to see where I've lived and worked. And don't forget to scroll south - really far south.
